5 HABITS THAT MADE THE 2ND HALF OF 2023 MORE PRODUCTIVE FOR ME!

It felt like just yesterday that we popped wines and shouted Happy New Year! Today, we are almost in the last month of the year. Like most people, especially Nigerians, 2023 has been a rough year. I started the year with a lot of energy and plans rolled out to make it the best year; along the line, things got tough, and I had to take months of retreats.

In all these, I discovered some little habits in the 2nd half of the year, which have helped me become a better version of myself.

Today, I will be sharing the top 5 habits that helped me! Have an amazing read!

  1. Getting enough sleep: If you know me well, you will know that I am a night crawler; I stay up late almost every day and wake up pretty late. Most of the time, I am not active in the morning, making me miss out on the busiest hours of the day. Ever since I started getting at least 6 hours of sleep every night, my life has changed; I wake up early and meditate for 45 minutes before I start my day. I plan my day early and start actualising my plans before it gets hot and noisy. My entire system is grateful because I no longer get body pains, a swollen face, or red-blood eyes. It is interesting to know that my sleep pattern has been constant for the first time in my adult life, for 5months; that is a massive win for me!
  2. Write my goals and plan: I have been a mental planner; I brag about my memory capacity and how I can arrange and remember things I need to do without writing them down. Well, the truth is I have been missing out on a lot and not prioritising well because I don’t write them down, and most of my arrangements are abstract. Writing down my goals has made it easier to refer to them, move them on the plan list, and tick them when I have completed the task.
  3. Living in the moment: As much as I plan and work towards my future, I learned to live in the moment to enjoy the present. When I started living in the moment, I appreciated life more and clearly understood what was happening around me. Some habits I classified as living in the moment include celebrating every win regardless of the size, accepting things and interacting with events around me, especially trends.
  4. Embrace tools: With the advancement in technology, I realised there are so many things the tools can do for me that require less time and energy. When I embraced these tools, I understood that most of the things I spent hours doing could be done in minutes. It has helped me do much daily and achieve quickly with less stress.
  5. Evaluate daily: I ensure that at the end of the day, I go back to my plan and evaluate my activities by looking at how many tasks were completed and if there is a need to add or remove any task from my daily list. This has helped keep me in check and guide my plan for the next day. Before now, I constantly evaluated at the end of the week, and sometimes, I forget the impact of some activities because they happened earlier in the week; this consumes so much time and resources.
